1 Quality Standard
This process use common grade and fine grade ethanol as raw material, the quality standard should be executed according to the Chinese Edible ethanol standard GB10343-2002.
2 Process flow
This system make up with topping still, rectifying column, water washing column, methanol column and recover column. The topping still adopts negative pressure operating, the water washing column adopts micro-positive pressure operating, the recover column is operating under ordinary pressure, the rectifying column and methanol is operating under positive pressure. Only the rectifying column gains heat directly from boiler, then the rectifying column heats the water washing column and methanol column, and the methanol column heat the topping still. The vapor phase of water washing column enters the recover column directly, the condensed water of rectifying column enters the bottom of recover column after flash, the ethanol steam of topping still and recover column is condensed by circulating water.
The raw material mix with the condensed water which has been cool to 70 Celsius degree in the raw material diluting tank, and be diluted to 68 Celsius degree, ethanol content is 14%v/v, then be pumped to the top trays of topping still by diluted raw material ethanol transfer pump. The topping still waste water which is produced in the above process is used for mixing in L&S workshop. The ethanol steam of topping still is condensed with circulating water, then enters the crude ethanol storage tank after be discharged to light component.
The crude ethanol enters the middle part of water washing column after pre-heated with the rectifying waste water. The ethanol steam with more impurity content which comes from the top of water washing column, enters the recover column for treatment. The industrial ethanol from the top of recover column should reflux to water washing column. The fusel oil from the middle and bottom of recover column should enter the fusel oil separator after cool. The fusel oil thin ethanol and vacuum pump thin ethanol enters mixed ethanol tank, and used as feeding to recover column after preheated by the recover column.
After washing with water, the thin ethanol enters the rectifying column after pre-heated by the rectifying column waste water. The fusel oil should be extracted from the feeding layer. There is about a length of 1m copper packing for removing the sulfur ethanol impurity in ethanol, and then the odor of ethanol became purer. The rectifying column waste water is flashed to remove some light component after pre-heated the thin ethanol, the a part of waste water is used for pre-heating crude ethanol, the other part is used for dilution in water washing column with condensed water.
The above 96% V/V semi-finished product which is extracted from the Pasteur area of rectifying column top, is sent to the middle of de-methanol column for removing the impurity such as methanol. The industrial ethanol is extracted from the top of rectifying column, and the 96% V/V high quality neutral ethanol should be extracted from the bottom of the column.
